Lew-Ann attended Dance Teacher Training School at Kent State with scholarship from Dance Masters of America, New England Chapter. She also did teacher training workshops with Gus Giordano in Chicago.
Her childhood years were spent with Josephine Shanley and Polly Thomas and The Maine State Ballet.
Lew-Ann was introduced to Belly Dancing in her late Twenties and recently studied with Mimi Fontana, Belly Queen, Sarah Locke and the traditional Samara, Serena and Elena Lentini.
While living in New York City, in the early 80’s, Lew-Ann studied Kundalini yoga with Donna Davidge Amrita. She later went on to Film and edit Donna’s third video Flexibility and the Spine.
Her teacher training was with physical therapist Jane Marchant of Nosara Wellness in Costa Rica. Lew-Ann produced Jane’s first video, Core Training and Lower Back Class.
At home in Maine, Lew-Ann spent three years studying Astanga at Yoga East in Portsmouth.
She has worked as a guest artist in NYC and in recent years in Costa Rica. Her Students have ranged from 3-80. She has choreographed dozens of musicals and owned her own theatre company for ten years. She taught Musical Theatre Dance at USM and has BA in Theatre and Dance form the University of Maine, Orono.
Her classes are energetic, fun and full of enthusiasm.
